Common questions
How does Tiny Promise work?
Each day, make one small promise to yourself — for an hour, until a set time, or for the whole day — and hold the button to seal it. When the time is up, answer honestly: kept or broken. Tiny Promise keeps your record and your self-trust score.
How is my self-trust score worked out?
It is the share of promises you kept in the last 30 days, counting only promises you answered as kept or broken. Promises you let go, and promises still open, don't count either way.
What is a grace day?
One day a week without a kept promise doesn't break your streak; it just doesn't add to it. You can turn the grace day off in Settings if you'd rather count strictly. Your self-trust score is the same either way.
What is free, and what is Pro?
Free, with no trial and no time limit: one promise a day, the seal, timers, reminders, your self-trust score, streaks with a grace day, milestones, reflections, Siri and Shortcuts, backups and your full history. Tiny Promise Pro is a one-time purchase — no subscription — that adds Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets you can answer from, the live Lock Screen countdown, Insights, your Year in Promises, renewing promises, ink colours, every month of the calendar, CSV export and room for up to three promises on days that need it.
I bought Tiny Promise Pro before version 3.0.
Everything you had stays yours, including up to five promises a day, and everything new in Pro is included. If Pro doesn't show, open Settings in the app and tap Restore Purchase, signed in with the same Apple Account. Anyone who bought "Unlock Forever" in version 1 has Pro too.
How do I add a widget?
Widgets are part of Tiny Promise Pro. Touch and hold your Home Screen, tap Edit, then Add Widget, and choose Tiny Promise. For the Lock Screen, touch and hold it and tap Customize. You can tap Kept or Broke it right on the widget.
Can I answer without opening the app?
Yes — from the widget, from the Lock Screen countdown, or when a timed promise's time is up: touch and hold the notification and choose I kept it or I broke it. You can also tell Siri "I kept my promise in Tiny Promise".
What happened to repeating promises?
In version 3.0 they became renewing promises. Instead of appearing on their own, they are offered on the days you chose: tap Renew on the home screen or Renew it in the morning notification, and it becomes that day's promise. Your existing repeating promises were kept and now work this way. Pause or delete them in Settings; promises already made stay in your history.
How do I use Siri?
Say "Make a promise in Tiny Promise", "I kept my promise in Tiny Promise" or "What's my promise in Tiny Promise". You'll also find these actions in the Shortcuts app.
How do I back up or move my promises?
Open Settings in the app and tap Back up promises, then save the file — for example to iCloud Drive in the Files app. On your new iPhone, tap Restore from backup and choose the file. Restoring only adds promises that aren't already there; it never overwrites or deletes anything.
My reminders don't arrive.
Check Settings > Notifications > Tiny Promise on your iPhone and make sure notifications are allowed, then turn the reminder on again in the app.
How do I delete my data?
In the app, open Settings and tap Delete all promises, or delete the app. Back up first if you might want your promises back.
