If you are reporting a problem, it helps to include your iPhone model, your iOS version, and what you were doing when it happened.

Saving a place from Apple Maps or Google Maps

Open the place in Maps, tap Share, and choose Revisit. If you don't see it, scroll to the end of the app row, tap More and switch Revisit on. Pick Want to go or Been here, add a line on why it's worth it if you like, and tap Save. The place appears the next time you open Revisit.

Places shared from Apple Maps usually bring their position with them, so they show up in Nearby. Google Maps often shares only a short link; Revisit keeps the link (it never opens it) and the place works everywhere except Nearby. Use I'm here now next time you're there to add a position.

Nearby shows nothing

Nearby only knows where a place is if it has a position. Revisit never looks addresses up online, so a place gets one in two ways: sharing it from Apple Maps, or tapping I'm here now when you add or edit it while you're there.

If Nearby says location is off, open Settings › Revisit › Location on your iPhone and choose While Using the App. Revisit reads your position once when you tap, and forgets it when you leave the screen. Everything else in the app works without it.

Want to go and Been

Every place is either somewhere you've been or somewhere you want to try. When you go to a want-to-go place, open it and tap I went today (or I went on another day). It moves to Been with its first visit, and from then on it can have reminders, photos and a visit history.

Lists

Lists group places however you like — a trip, a craving, an occasion. A place can be in as many lists as you want. Two lists are free; Revisit Unlimited lets you make as many as you need. Lists you already made are never taken away.

Importing from Google Maps

On takeout.google.com, select only Saved (and Maps (your places) for starred places), download the archive and unzip it in the Files app. In Revisit, go to Settings › Import from Google Maps and pick a list's .csv file or Saved Places.json. The file is read on your iPhone; nothing is uploaded. Importing the same file twice doesn't create duplicates.

My reminder never arrived

Reminders arrive in the morning once a place has gone the number of months you chose without a visit. Check Settings › Notifications › Revisit on your iPhone and make sure Allow Notifications is on — if notifications were declined once, iOS won't ask again. Reminders are part of Revisit Unlimited, and only places you've been to can have one.

Siri and Shortcuts

Say "Save a place in Revisit", "I was at … in Revisit" or "What's near me in Revisit", or find Revisit's actions in the Shortcuts app. They work on your iPhone with your own data only.

I paid but the features are locked

Open Settings inside the app and tap Restore Purchases. Make sure you are signed in to the same Apple Account you used to buy. Revisit Unlimited is a one-time purchase, not a subscription, and it works on every device signed in to that account. If you bought the unlock in an earlier version, you have everything in this one too.

If restoring does not work, email me with the date of purchase and I will help.

What does the free version include?

Unlimited places and visits, Want to go, the "why go back" line, Nearby, sharing from Maps, Google Maps import, two lists, search, Siri and Spotlight, the Face ID lock, full backups and CSV export.

The one-time Revisit Unlimited purchase adds photos on visits, return reminders and the Due tab, Home and Lock Screen widgets, unlimited lists, visit ratings, your own categories, and every year of your history with highlights and a shareable card.

Where is my data?

On your iPhone, and nowhere else. There is no account and no server. Revisit makes no network requests except to the App Store when you purchase, restore or leave a rating.

Because of this, data is not synced between devices and cannot be recovered by the developer if you delete the app. Your iPhone's own encrypted backup includes Revisit. To keep a separate copy, use Back up everything in Settings and save the file somewhere safe; Restore from a backup adds anything missing and never duplicates what is already there.

How do I delete everything?

Swipe a place to delete it, or use Delete all data in Settings to remove every place, visit, photo, list and category. Deleting the app also removes all of its data from your device.

Requesting a feature

Send it to the address above. Revisit is deliberately focused and not everything gets added, but every message is read.
