Introduction
Milestones is designed to help you privately archive the meaningful events of your life — moments, beginnings, and achievements — organized by category, with an optional photo and a short note attached to each one. This app is designed to work without accounts, tracking, analytics, advertising, or developer-side storage of user-created content.
Information We Do Not Collect
This app does not collect personal information from users. Specifically, the developer does not collect:
- Name, email address, phone number, or physical address
- Contact list or address book data
- Photos or media from your device, unless you explicitly attach one to a milestone you create
- Precise or approximate location data
- Financial account information or payment card information
- Advertising identifiers or device identifiers used for tracking
- Analytics or behavioral data
- User-created content stored on developer servers
Information Stored Locally on Your Device
Milestones may store the following data locally on your device: the milestones you create (title, date, optional note, and category), system and any custom categories you create, an optional photo attached to a milestone (multiple photos for Premium users), and general app settings such as sort order, appearance, and anniversary notification preferences. None of this data is transmitted to the developer or any external server.
App Permissions
This app is designed to work without requesting access to sensitive device permissions. If you choose to attach a photo to a milestone, the app requests access to your photo library solely for that purpose. If you enable anniversary notifications, the app requests local notification permission solely to schedule on-device reminders. Neither permission is used for tracking, profiling, or any purpose beyond what is needed to deliver the feature you choose to use.
Payments and Purchases
Purchases, if available within this app, are processed by Apple through the App Store using StoreKit. The developer does not receive, process, or store your payment card information. All payment handling is managed entirely by Apple.
Third-Party Services
This app does not integrate third-party analytics services, advertising networks, or tracking SDKs. If the app uses Apple platform features such as local notifications or in-app purchases through StoreKit, these are device-level or App Store platform features provided by Apple and are not used for tracking or profiling users.
Data Sharing
The developer does not sell, trade, rent, or share user data with third parties. There is no developer-side database of user-created content. Your information stays on your device.
Data Export and Import
Milestones lets you export your milestones and photos into a single archive file that is saved to a location you choose on your own device, and import an archive file back into the app. This export and import process happens entirely on your device; the archive file is never uploaded to or processed by the developer or any external server.
Data Deletion
You can delete your data at any time by removing individual milestones inside the app, using the "Delete All Data" option in Settings to erase everything stored by the app, or deleting the app from your device. Deleting the app removes all locally stored data associated with it.
Children's Privacy
This app does not knowingly collect personal information from children or from any users, as it does not collect personal information in general. The app is designed to function without any personal data being transmitted to the developer.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
This privacy policy may be updated if the app's features change in a way that affects how information is handled. When updated, the revised policy will be posted on this page with a new effective date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
