Introduction
Split is a minimal precision game for iPhone and iPad: you are given a shape and one straight cut, and the goal is to divide its true geometric area as close to exactly 50/50 as possible — or, in Fractions, to a third, a quarter or a fifth. Split works without accounts, tracking, analytics or advertising, and the game itself works entirely offline.
Information We Do Not Collect
This app does not collect personal information from users. Specifically, the developer does not collect:
- Name, email address, phone number, or physical address
- Contact list or address book data
- Photos or media from your device
- Precise or approximate location data
- Financial account information or payment card information
- Advertising identifiers or device identifiers used for tracking
- Analytics or behavioral data
- User-created content stored on developer servers
Information Stored Locally on Your Device
Split may store the following data locally on your device: your gameplay statistics (total cuts, perfect cuts, best and average accuracy, current and best precision streak, and your most recent cuts); your Precision rating by day and your typical error on each kind of shape; your Fractions results; your daily history and streak, and the past days you have played from the archive; your best attempt and medal on each Trials shape; your best scores in Run; how many friend challenges you have played and won; your app settings and preferences (haptics, sound effects, appearance, precise cut controls); whether you have completed the first-launch tutorial; and whether Split Complete has been unlocked. None of this data is transmitted to the developer or any external server.
App Permissions
Split does not request access to sensitive device permissions such as location, camera, microphone, or contacts. The app is fully functional offline and does not require any special device permissions to operate.
Payments and Purchases
Split is free to download and contains no advertising. It offers a single one-time purchase, Split Complete, which unlocks ten further Trials packs, the full Fractions mode, the daily archive and deeper statistics. It is processed by Apple through the App Store using StoreKit. The developer does not receive, process, or store your payment card information. All payment handling is managed entirely by Apple. There is no subscription, and the purchase is never sold twice. Anyone who bought Split when it was a paid app, and anyone who has already bought Split Complete, keeps everything it now includes.
Third-Party Services
This app does not integrate third-party analytics services, advertising networks, or tracking SDKs. Split does not connect to the internet during normal use; the only time it uses the network is to complete or restore a purchase, and that exchange is handled by the App Store. All gameplay logic runs entirely on your device.
Friend Challenges
Split can make a ten-character challenge code for a friend. The code contains only two things: the number that chooses ten shapes and the score of the person who sent it. Split never sends a code anywhere itself — you choose whether to share it, and with whom, using your device's share sheet. Entering a friend's code works offline. Split reads your clipboard only when you tap the Paste button on the code screen.
Data Sharing
The developer does not sell, trade, rent, or share user data with third parties. There is no developer-side database of user-created content. Your information stays on your device.
Data Deletion
You can delete your data at any time by resetting your statistics through the app's Settings screen, or by deleting the app from your device. Deleting the app removes all locally stored data associated with it. A purchase is not device data: it stays on your Apple Account and can be restored at any time from Settings.
Children's Privacy
This app does not knowingly collect personal information from children or from any users, as it does not collect personal information in general. The app is designed to function without any personal data being transmitted to the developer.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
This privacy policy may be updated if the app's features change in a way that affects how information is handled. When updated, the revised policy will be posted on this page with a new effective date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
