Introduction
RULE is a minimalist deduction game: you are shown examples, you work out the hidden rule that connects them, and you choose the answer that follows the same rule. Nobody tells you the rule beforehand. It contains 240 handcrafted puzzles across nine worlds, a new Daily Rule each day, and an endless run that never repeats — with no timers and no penalty for a wrong answer. RULE is free to download; the first three worlds and the Daily Rule are free, and a single optional in-app purchase unlocks the rest, once and permanently. This app is designed to work without accounts, tracking, analytics, advertising, or developer-side storage of user-created content. Apart from that one purchase, which the App Store handles, RULE works entirely offline.
Information We Do Not Collect
This app does not collect personal information from users. Specifically, the developer does not collect:
- Name, email address, phone number, or physical address
- Contact list or address book data
- Photos or media from your device
- Precise or approximate location data
- Financial account information or payment card information
- Advertising identifiers or device identifiers used for tracking
- Analytics or behavioral data
- User-created content stored on developer servers
Purchases
RULE offers one non-consumable in-app purchase, which unlocks the remaining worlds and modes. The purchase is made through Apple's App Store and is processed entirely by Apple. The developer never sees and never receives your name, your email address, your Apple ID or any payment card or account information. The app asks the App Store a single question — whether this Apple ID owns the unlock — and stores nothing beyond the answer to it. Restoring a purchase asks the App Store the same question again. Apple's own handling of App Store transactions is described in Apple's privacy policy.
RULE contains no advertising, no subscriptions and no consumable purchases, and nothing in the app can be bought more than once.
Information Stored Locally on Your Device
RULE may store the following data locally on your device: which puzzles you have solved and which of those you solved after taking a hint; which puzzles you have opened but not yet solved; which puzzle to return to when you continue; the dates on which you solved a Daily Rule and how far you have gone in the endless run; how many rules you have discovered; whether the unlock is active on this device; and your app settings (sound, haptics, and whether the rule is shown after solving). This is written to a single file inside the app's own storage area, together with the settings switches. None of this data is transmitted to the developer or any external server.
App Permissions
RULE does not request access to sensitive device permissions such as location, camera, microphone, photos, contacts, or notifications. The app is fully functional offline and does not require any special device permissions to operate.
Third-Party Services
This app does not integrate third-party analytics services, advertising networks, or tracking SDKs, and it contains no third-party code, libraries, or bundled assets of any kind. The only network communication RULE is capable of is the App Store purchase and restore described above, made through Apple's own StoreKit framework. There is no developer server and no other network request of any kind: every puzzle ships inside the app, the Daily Rule and the endless run are generated on your own device, and all game logic runs there.
Data Sharing
The developer does not sell, trade, rent, or share user data with third parties. There is no developer-side database of user-created content. Your information stays on your device.
Data Deletion
You can delete your data at any time by resetting your progress through the app's Settings screen, or by deleting the app from your device. Deleting the app removes all locally stored data associated with it. Because nothing is stored anywhere else, there is no copy of your progress to recover once it is deleted. Your purchase is held by Apple, not by the app, so it can always be restored from the Settings screen.
Children's Privacy
This app does not knowingly collect personal information from children or from any users, as it does not collect personal information in general. The app is designed to function without any personal data being transmitted to the developer.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
This privacy policy may be updated if the app's features change in a way that affects how information is handled. When updated, the revised policy will be posted on this page with a new effective date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
