The Short Version
Before You Go does not collect, upload, or share any personal data. There are no accounts, no servers, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking. Your checklists and your check history live on your iPhone and nowhere else.
Information We Do Not Collect
The developer does not collect:
- Name, email address, phone number, or physical address
- Contacts, photos, or media from your device
- Precise or approximate location
- Financial account or payment card information
- Advertising identifiers or device identifiers used for tracking
- Usage analytics, behavioral data, or crash reports sent to third parties
- User-created content stored on developer servers
Information Stored Locally on Your Device
Before You Go stores the following only on your device:
- Your checklists, their items, and hotel stays you add
- Your check history: when you finished each check and the time each item was ticked (added in version 2.0)
- App settings, such as whether reminders are on, and whether Premium is unlocked
This data is stored with Apple's on-device storage (SwiftData and UserDefaults). It is never transmitted to the developer or to any external server.
Widgets
If you add a Before You Go widget, the app shares checklist names, icons, and last-check times with the widget through an App Group — a storage area on your iPhone that only Before You Go and its widget can read. Nothing leaves your device.
Notifications
Hotel checkout reminders and daily reminders are scheduled locally on your device using Apple's notification framework. Notification permission is requested only when you set up a reminder. No data is sent to any server to deliver them.
Payments and Purchases
The optional one-time Premium purchase is processed by Apple through the App Store (StoreKit). The app verifies the purchase on your device. The developer does not receive, process, or store your payment information or any personal data from the purchase. See Apple's privacy policy for purchase-related data handled by Apple.
Third-Party Services
This app does not include third-party analytics services, advertising networks, or tracking SDKs.
Data Sharing
The developer does not sell, trade, rent, or share user data with anyone. There is no developer-side database of user content.
Data Deletion
You can delete individual checklists inside the app, or use Settings › Delete All Data to remove every checklist, hotel stay, and check history. Deleting the app also removes all of its data from your device. Your Premium purchase stays with your Apple Account and can be restored at any time.
Children's Privacy
Before You Go does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
If the app's features change in a way that affects how information is handled, the updated policy will be posted on this page with a new "Last Updated" date.
