Introduction
Atlas is a geography-learning game that helps you learn countries, capitals, flags, outlines and continents through adaptive practice, and lets you explore every country on an offline world map. This app is designed to work without accounts, tracking, analytics, advertising, or developer-side storage of user-created content. Atlas works entirely offline.
Information We Do Not Collect
This app does not collect personal information from users. Specifically, the developer does not collect:
- Name, email address, phone number, or physical address
- Contact list or address book data
- Photos or media from your device
- Precise or approximate location data
- Financial account information or payment card information
- Advertising identifiers or device identifiers used for tracking
- Analytics or behavioral data
- User-created content stored on developer servers
Information Stored Locally on Your Device
Atlas may store the following data locally on your device: your learning progress and mastery scores for countries, capitals, flags, and continents; session and practice history; unlocked content tiers; collections and statistics; your app settings and preferences (including whether taps on the map need confirming); the results of the Daily Fives you have played (the date, your score per country and your average distance), which make up the Daily Five calendar; and whether Atlas Complete is unlocked on this device (so the app can open correctly before the App Store responds). None of this data is transmitted to the developer or any external server.
Sharing a Daily Five Result
If you choose to share a Daily Five result, Atlas hands a short line of text (the Daily number, five coloured squares, your score and a link to Atlas on the App Store) to the iOS share sheet. You decide where it goes; Atlas itself sends nothing anywhere and keeps no record of what you shared. The link contains no tracking parameters.
Widget
The optional "Country of the Day" widget shows one country per day, chosen on your device from the data bundled with the app. It reads no information about you or your progress, and it does not connect to the internet.
App Permissions
Atlas does not request access to sensitive device permissions such as location, camera, microphone, or contacts. The app is fully functional offline and does not require any special device permissions to operate.
Payments and Purchases
Atlas is free to download. It offers one optional, one-time In-App Purchase, "Atlas Complete", sold through the App Store using Apple's StoreKit. There are no subscriptions. The purchase is processed and verified entirely by Apple on your device; the developer does not receive, process, or store your payment card information, your Apple Account details, or any record of your purchase. If you bought Atlas before version 2.0, the app confirms this on your device using Apple's own purchase record, without sending anything to the developer.
Third-Party Services
This app does not integrate third-party analytics services, advertising networks, or tracking SDKs. Atlas itself does not connect to the internet, and all gameplay and map data are bundled with the app. The only online interaction is iOS contacting Apple's App Store when you view, buy or restore Atlas Complete.
Data Sharing
The developer does not sell, trade, rent, or share user data with third parties. There is no developer-side database of user-created content. Your information stays on your device.
Data Deletion
You can delete your data at any time by resetting your progress through the app's settings, or by deleting the app from your device. Deleting the app removes all locally stored data associated with it.
Children's Privacy
This app does not knowingly collect personal information from children or from any users, as it does not collect personal information in general. The app is designed to function without any personal data being transmitted to the developer.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
This privacy policy may be updated if the app's features change in a way that affects how information is handled. When updated, the revised policy will be posted on this page with a new effective date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
